Pope Leo tells Spanish parliament migrants must be respected

Pope Leo's call for migrant respect reflects a broader moral shift away from biblical distinctions of law, order, and national sovereignty, echoing the spirit of lawlessness and rejection of God's established boundaries.

Primary Scripture

Psalm 2:1-3

Prophetic Fulfillment
Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against his Anointed, saying, 'Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.'

Why this passage

Psalm 2 describes the rebellion of earthly rulers against God's established order—His Anointed King and His laws. The psalmist portrays a conspiracy of nations and leaders who seek to throw off divine constraints.

This is a messianic psalm, ultimately fulfilled in Christ's reign, but it also describes the recurring pattern of human governance in rebellion against God's moral and created order, including the boundaries He set for peoples (Deut 32:8).

What This Means for Your Faith
By the Sword of GabrielEditorial Voice · 3611 News

Behold, the nations rage and the peoples imagine vain things (Psalm 2:1). When the highest religious office urges the dissolution of borders and the honoring of every migrant without regard to law, we witness the spirit of the age—a spirit that honors man's will above God's ordinances.

Yet the Lord has set the bounds of the peoples (Deuteronomy 32:8). Let us not be swayed by the voice of the world, even when it speaks from a sacred seat.

Our citizenship is in heaven, and we await a Savior who will establish true justice.

Today's Prayer

Pray that Christians would hold fast to God's design for nations and borders, and not be deceived by worldly compassion that undermines His order.
