Venezuela declares state of emergency after back-to-back earthquakes

Venezuela's interim leader declared a state of emergency on Wednesday after two powerful earthquakes and more than 20 aftershocks struck the country, damaging infrastructure and forcing the closure of Caracas' main airport. Officials said Maiquetia International Airport sustained serious damage after the 7.2- and 7.5-magnitude quakes.
